One-year, one-way contract for goaltender Keith Kinkaid

MONTREAL – Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced on Monday that the team has agreed to terms on a one-year, one-way contract (2019-20 – $1.75 million) with free agent goaltender Keith Kinkaid.

The 6’03”, 195 lbs netminder appeared in 41 games with the New Jersey Devils and Columbus Blue Jackets in 2018-19, posting a 15-18-6 record. Three of his wins were shutouts. Kinkaid registered a 3.36 goals-against average along with a .891 save percentage.

The 29-year-old goaltender has played 151 games in the NHL since making his debut in 2012-13 with the Devils. Kinkaid has compiled a 64-55-17 record, with a 2.90 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage, registering seven shutouts.

A Farmingville, NY native, Kinkaid helped Team USA earn the bronze medal at the 2018 IIHF World Championship, also competing in the 2016 World Championship.
