Logan Shaw signs one-year contract with Winnipeg Jets

June 1st, 2019 by Cape Breton Post

SYDNEY, N.S. — Logan Shaw will remain with the Winnipeg Jets organization for at least another year.

The 26-year-old signed a one-year, two-way contract with an average annual value of $700,000 in the National Hockey League.

The Glace Bay forward signed as a free agent with the Jets on Nov. 11, 2018, and split last season in the American Hockey League between the Manitoba Moose and the San Diego Gulls.

In 70 games between the Moose and Gulls, Shaw recorded 29 goals and 22 assists for 51 points, while scoring 27 of those goals with the Moose.
Shaw, who was originally drafted by the Florida Panthers in 2011, played three-and-a-half seasons with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, before being traded to the Quebec Remparts, where he had a career-high 68 points during the 2012-13 season.

Shaw wasn’t the only player the Jets re-signed on Friday.

The team also inked forward C.J. Suess to a one-year, two-way contract worth the same amount as Shaw at the NHL level.
