Where else would rookie Carter Rowney take the Stanley Cup?

The Cup was on full display during a parade through Sexsmith, Alberta as the Pittsburgh Penguins forward, who got his start playing for the Grand Prairie Storm of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, brought it back to his hometown on Sunday.

Rowney and a large contingent of of family and friends posed for a picture in front of an even larger bus adorned with praise for the Penguins and the Sexsmith native.

Reports expected a large turnout for the town of 2,620 to see their conquering hero hoist the Cup.

Rowney and family rode in a opened wooden trailer at the tail of the parade so locals had a good view of the trophy.

The parade included Sexsmith Minor Hockey club, some Grande Prairie Junior Storm alumni, mayor Claude Lagace and the local fire department.
